This is my very first blog entry!
Welcome to my brand new website (deep bow to Katie Hildreth for putting this baby together!), a brand new album (available in stores, iTunes & this site) new video for 1st single ‘Cannonball’, new everythang!
I have to say it’s been a pretty incredible & strange year so far. Not a dull moment hiding in any nook or cranny.
The latest tour news:
I just came off the road from a 2.5 week intensive tour through Japan, with guitarist Don Ross. With 13 solid dates, and barely any down time (or alone time) needless to say, I’m crashing pretty hard. Jetlag is something us nomads can to be cocky about from time to time. As if we are immune. But a 12 hr time difference can really screw with your head, no matter how much traveling one may do.
This was my 3rd trip to Japan, but my very 1st tour as a performer. Having had a taste of the country before, I have to say, I was completely surprised all over again the 3rd time around.
Japan is an incredibly beautiful and exhausting place! The constant rapture of lights, bustling feet, scattered bike riders on the side walks, street markets, sellers hollering their wears, plastic food menus in restaurant windows, 7 Elevens rice balls, Soba noodles, I could go on and on and….it’s still processing…
I learned a lot about audiences in Japan. The intensity in which they listen, some of them are so quiet, you’d swear you were in a library. But turns out, at the end of the show, they would all come to the autograph table and want you to sign all their concert momentous. They want to shake your hand and bow till your back is sore, and your smile lines are rippling across your face.
On the other hand, some of the audiences were far more demonstrative. This was an acoustic tour, but I like to think it was a rock show none-the-less. We made sure to rock out as much as we could at every show. Hey just cause it’s acoustic, doesn’t mean it needs to be softy-toffy! The response overall was super positive and well absorbed.
Kind of an amazing experience, and unlike ANY other place I’ve toured.
Like I said…still processing…

Well, that is it for this Blog entry. I’m still pretty jetlagged and a lot of what has gone on is a blur! It’ll all start coming together and sinking in within the next few days. I’ll write more about Japan, as well as post some more photos, videos and keep you up to date on gigs etc.
Thanks for reading the junk in my brain!
